Renewable Energy Task Force
The Renewable Energy Task Force was established by Council to work in partnership with community and industry leaders to transition our municipalities energy consumption to 25% renewable by 2020. The Task Force provides direction and leadership in implementing a sustainable energy mix that promotes the health of our community and natural environment, creates additional jobs for our growing population and reduces emissions which contribute to dangerous global warming.
The Renewable Energy Task Force will work in partnership with Council, community and industry to achieve the following objectives:
- Enhance energy efficiency in the local community.
- Attract and build local expertise in renewable energy technology.
- Identify strategic opportunity to attract renewable energy investment and jobs in Surf Coast Shire.
- Promote and support community owned renewable energy within the Surf Coast Shire municipality.
The Task Force is comprised of an independent Chair, Councillors, industry experts, representatives from key community groups and community members.
